Our Story
Just Plant Designers was established in 1983 by Mike Mitchell, a Marine Corps veteran and 1980 Olympic bobsled hopeful. Driven and determined, Mike transferred his discipline and work ethic to successfully create a plantscaping company from the ground up. After identifying the needs of local business owners, Mike targeted commercial buildings, interior designers, startup companies, and established corporations to provide top-notch interior plant services. Through trial-and-error and extensive research, Mike quickly determined what plants thrive in the arid Arizona environment and how to help them improve company spaces.
Early on, Mike’s wife and business partner, Vicki Mitchell, brought her marketing expertise, entrepreneurial background, and well-known “green thumb” to enhance Just Plant Designer’s offerings. Since then and throughout its 30+ year history, Just Plant Designers has serviced companies small and large in the Phoenix-metro area. With clients and work that has ranged from high-end resorts and model homes to banks and accounting firms, the personalized and custom service remains constant. As a family-owned business, the Just Plant Designers team supports the regional small business community and looks forward to providing a “greener tomorrow” for the Valley of the Sun.
After 30 plus years in business I still can’t wait to start the next new project.
